Second Location, New Opportunities

Head to Toe Oasis has a second location! I will be workings along with Dr. Studabaker Chiropractic in Troy! I have my own relaxing room for massages and reflexology.

I decided to take this opportunity to help the community better by having a massage therapist under the same roof as a chiropractor! By seeing both in the same day you will see better results and feel better all in the same day!

By taking this new opportunity I haven't always had everyone on my side! I have had many negative comments and thoughts about my taking this on! But, in my eyes I see this as an amazing opportunity to better help the community.

On your journey to success, you may loose people along the way, because they don't like what you have picked! That is okay! Always focus on yourself, your dreams and goals!

Chiropractors & What They Do

(Information from Dr. Studabaker)

Chiropractors are primarily concerned with locating and treating vertebral subluxations. A vertebral subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular (joint) changes that compromise the integrity of the nervous system and may influence organ system function and general health.

The chiropractor checks the patient's spine for any misalignments, fixations or other abnormalities (vertebral subluxations). If subluxations or other abnormalities are detected, the chiropractor will generally apply a gentle force in a corrective manner to the affected spinal area, either hands on or assisted by a mechanical instrument. Chiropractic adjustments may cause an audible “pop” or “click” and a sense of movement may or may not be felt, both of which are normal.

Chiropractors use many specialized techniques to identify and treat these spinal abnormalities and optimize overall health. In addition to spinal adjusting techniques, soft tissue techniques such as massage, dietary and nutritional counseling, physical therapies, and lifestyle modification programs are commonly employed.

"Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs and surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health." - The Association of Chiropractic Colleges

Combining Chiropractic and Massage Therapy

Not many of you know but chiropractors and massage therapist go hand and hand. Why choose between chiropractic care and massage therapy? Just choose both!

When combined together, chiropractic and massage therapy provide a complete and efficient system of treatment. Whatever your physical problems may be, combining these two types of care together can increase your overall quality of life and help maintain optimum health for patients. Chiropractors focus on the bones and aligning the bones in the body, while massage therapist focus on the muscles of the body.

Combining both chiropractic and massage can speed up recovery time for those suffering from sore muscles or other medical issues. Recent polls of people who use both therapies have found that they found relief from issues such as insomnia, back pain, arthritis, and other issues. Just by seeing two people majority of your pain can be gone!

Why They Work Well Together

Chiropractic focuses on the hard tissue of the body (vertebrae and joints of the spine) while massage focuses on the soft tissues (muscles) of the body. By targeting both the hard and soft tissues, a faster and more overall complete recovery is achieved.

Massages work well with chiropractic because of the relaxation factor. After a massage, a chiropractic patient is more relaxed and less anxious. This allows the chiropractor to better adjust the joints and spine. Relaxed muscles also won’t pull the joints back out of alignment due to the release of muscle tension.
